URL encode / decode
Percent-encoding for links and a URL parser for parts and parameters.
Encoding mode
Everything runs in your browser: your input and files are never uploaded.
How to use
- Paste text or a link and click “Encode” or “Decode”.
- “Parameter” mode encodes everything including / ? & = for values inside a URL. “Whole URL” keeps the URL structure.
- Below you can break any link into domain, path and parameters.
FAQ
Why encode a URL?
URLs may only contain certain characters. Spaces, non-Latin letters and special characters are replaced with codes like %20.
encodeURIComponent vs encodeURI?
encodeURIComponent also encodes / ? & =, so it suits parameter values. encodeURI preserves the URL structure.
Why does + become a space?
HTML forms encode spaces as +. Decoding takes that into account.
